Deposit & Cancellation Policies
One-night stays require payment in full at time of booking. Reservations of two-nights or more require a 50% deposit at time of booking.
Cancellations received 14 or more days prior to your arrival date will be refunded in full, less a $25 administrative fee. If less than 14 days advanced notice is given for your cancellation, your deposit is non-refundable. Non-refundable means payment is withheld, even if plans change or unexpected circumstances arise. No refunds on early departures.
Please understand, when we hold a room for you, in most cases our small business is turning away other customers. Non-refundable deposits may not be transferred to gift certificates. If you’re looking for more flexibility, we suggest waiting until your desired dates get closer to see what is available, rather than reserving your room in advance.

Third Party Website Reservations
If you choose to make your reservation through an online travel agency (OTA), such as Booking.com or Expedia.com, you are responsible for the policies you agree to through those websites. When you book through an OTA you are not booking directly with Main Street Motel, you are booking through a third party website. Reservations made through an online travel agency must also be cancelled through them.
Group Cancellation Policy (3 or more rooms)
Multiple cancellations over the same dates puts a hardship on our small business. In most cases, we have turned away other customers while holding your room. Group cancellations received 21 or more days prior to your arrival date will be refunded in full, less a $25 administrative fee (charged to each reservation). If less than 21 days advanced notice is given for your cancellations, your deposits are non-refundable. Non-refundable means payment is withheld, even if plans change or unexpected circumstances arise.
No Elevator
We offer rooms on the first and second floor. We do not have an elevator. If you have a floor request, please let us know when you make your reservation and we will do our very best to accommodate you.
No Smoking
For the comfort and safety of our guests, all our rooms and common areas (patios, balconies, decks) are non-smoking. Smoking is only permitted in the designated area behind the office near the soda machine . Thank you for your cooperation! Please be advised, beginning in 2026 the entire property will be smoke-free.
No Pets
No pets or emotional support animals are allowed. A cleaning fee will be imposed if there is an occurrence. You will also be asked to leave with no refund for the unused portion of your reservation. We gladly accept service animals that are specifically trained to aid a disabled person.
No Bikes in Guest Rooms
We invite our guests to use our outdoor bike rack, located behind the office, near the soda machine. Please bring a lock to secure your bicycle. Bicycles are not permitted on our balconies, patios, railings or inside guest rooms.
Room Rate & Occupancy
Rates are based on double occupancy (2 people). Up to 2 additional adults or children (3 years and older) are charged $10 per night per person when using existing beds. There is no capacity for extra beds or cots in our rooms. Children 2 and younger stay for free. Rates are based on availability and subject to change. Prices are subject to applicable tax.
Early Departures
You will be charged for the full number of nights you have reserved, even if you decide to leave early for any reason or under any circumstance. If you’re looking for more flexibility, we’d suggest waiting until your desired dates get closer to see what is available, rather than reserving your room in advance. Unfortunately, we cannot provide refunds due to weather.
No Show Reservations
A confirmed reservation is a two-way commitment. We commit to holding that particular room for your desired dates, therefore not selling it to someone else. You commit to staying in that room for the dates we’re holding it for you. No shows are financially responsible for the entire cost of their reservation. No show reservations will be held until 8:30am the day following their scheduled day of arrival.
Minimum Stay Requirements
There is a minimum stay requirement for most days. There is limited availability for 1-night stays. 1-night stays require payment in full at time of booking and are non-refundable.
Special Requests
Although we strive to fulfill guest requests concerning location, room layout or proximity of accommodations, we are unable to guarantee such requests. Please call us with special requests when you make your reservation. It becomes more difficult and unlikely to make changes closer to your arrival date. Every effort will be made to honor you request based on motel occupancy.
Check-in & Check-out Times
- Check-in time: 3:00 pm-8:00pm. Late check-ins are availble upon request. Please call our office if you will be arriving after 8pm.
- Check-out time: 10:30 am or before.
No Grilling or Campfires
No grilling or campfires are permitted on our grounds.
Electric Vehicle Charging Stations
Our guests are invited to use our 3 complimentary Tesla electric vehicle charging stations. Please let the office know if you plan to use the charging stations. Our charging stations are not open to the public.
Baby Equipment
We do not supply baby equipment. We recommend our local BabyQuip.
Lost & Found
Lost and found items are held for 30 days and then donated to a local charity. Please call us if you’d like your item(s) returned. We ask that you pay shipping costs.
Gift Certificates
We proudly accept Door County Gift Certificates. Please click HERE to learn more about Door County Gift Certificates or to purchase online. We do not offer Main Street Motel gift certificates.
Fun Policy
You must unwind and relax while in Door County! We want our guests to have an enjoyable vacation. If there is anything we can do for you, please let us know!
