Krause Family

Owners
Gary and Debbie Krause were both born and raised in Door County, Wisconsin. Their families, the Krauses and Reinhards, each date back three generations of Door County businesses in both Fish Creek and Ephraim. Debbie’s parents, Bill and Nedra Reinhard built Main Street Motel in 1981. Nedra loved being an innkeeper and visiting with her guests. Today, she reminisces about everything that’s changed since the motel first opened. Nedra used to take all reservations by hand on a big paper chart and would tell customers their confirmation number was “Nedra”! When Bill and Nedra decided to move toward retirement, Gary and Debbie kept the family tradition going and bought Main Street Motel in 2007. With deep roots in the community and a history of family business, Gary and Debbie, along with their children Matthew and Kayla, also own Bay Breeze Resort in Ephraim, which they built in 1995.
Gary and Debbie enjoy sharing Door County with their customers. Whenever possible they shop locally for their businesses and love to hear guest feedback on the local artwork in the rooms or after they walk through the grounds and enjoy the gardens. Gary and Debbie are blessed to have a wonderful team around them who love Main Street Motel as much as they do – this business would not be as special as it is without them! During their down time Gary and Debbie enjoy traveling. In the summertime you will find them gardening and cooking.
