Effective Friday, July 24, 2020, Door County Public Health has issued an Emergency Advisory which stipulates everyone 5 years and older wear a face covering while in public in Door County.

We have taken enhanced health and safety measures (outlined below) in an effort to keep our guests, team members and community safe. Having said that, an inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present. By choosing to travel you voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19. Please join with us in helping to keep each other healthy. We miss you and can’t wait to see you soon!

Main Street Motel is a proud member of Door County’s ‘Commitment to Cleanliness & Safety’ initiative in light of Covid-19. Please view our commitment by clicking HERE.

The following is a compilation of best practices from the Centers for Disease Control, State of Wisconsin, American Hotel & Lodging Association and Door County Public Health Department. These guidelines are not mandated and instead represent our commitment to keep our guests, employees and community safe.

Checking In

All guests are required to check-in and register (contactless check-in available upon request). We have installed a glass barrier in our office to protect both our team members and guests. We ask that office foot traffic be limited to one group at a time. If you see another group in the office, please wait outside until they’ve been helped. Due to the added time it takes to prepare and sanitize each room, we are unable to provide early check-ins. Your room will be ready at 2:30pm. Room keys are sanitized after each guest.

Personal Protective Equipment

Effective August 1, 2020, Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers has issued an Executive Order declaring a public health emergency and requiring face coverings while indoors statewide. Our team members and guests are asked to please wear face coverings in public areas of Main Street Motel. In general, instead of wearing gloves, we ask our team members and guests to wash their hands frequently and use hand sanitizer.

Social Distancing

Whenever possible, we ask our team members and guests to please allow for six feet of social distancing between themselves and other groups in public areas of Main Street Motel (this includes outdoors).

Cleaning of Public Spaces & Communal Areas

Public spaces and communal areas will be cleaned and disinfected throughout the day with an emphasis on hard surfaces.

Housekeeping

In anticipation of individual concerns of guests, housekeeping shall not enter a guest room during a stay unless specifically requested (and when guests are not in the room). We will make accommodation for fresh bath towels.

Guest Rooms

All our beds are triple sheeted and all linens are laundered after each guest. Accent pillows have been removed.

Cleaning and Disinfecting Guest Rooms

Our cleaning and disinfecting protocols pay particular attention to high-touch items in every room. Carpeting and other material surfaces in guest rooms are treated with an active ingredient that has been proven by the EPA to be effective against broad spectrum viruses.

Hand Washing

We ask our team members and guests to engage in frequent hand washing using soap and water for a minimum of 20 seconds. We encourage the use of hand sanitizer when hand washing is not available.

Sickness

Temperature checks are performed on all our team members before their shifts begin and temperatures are documented. We ask our team members and guests to please stay home if you are feeling sick. We are happy to work with you to reschedule your visit as soon as you are feeling better.
